Tara Ward is the co-founder of the Animal Defenders Office (ADO), an accredited volunteer-run community legal centre that operates nationally from a small office in the Australian Capital Territory. Tara has been the Principal Lawyer for the ADO since 2019. She also teaches Animal Law at the University of New South Wales and is an animal welfare category member on a university’s animal ethics committee. Tara co-founded and was a volunteer event manager for the Living Green Festival, Canberra’s first 100% vegan festival that ran from 2011 to 2019.
