A former HIV-AIDS coordinator for Western NSW, he has worked in remote and rural medicine for ~ 20yrs in PNG, rural Africa, and Outback Australia. He was involved in service, field research and education in rural Africa for 6 yrs. In partnership with his wife Flavia Ursino Coleman, he initiated vigils outside Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for Lab Animals in 2016. He has been affiliated with the Save movement since 2017, and they are now into the 9th year of monthly vigils for the most hidden victims of anonymous violence.

XENOTRANSPLANTATION is the transplantation of organs from one species to another. This controversial multibillion $ enterprise is on the verge of birthing, and has been the subject of ongoing research at Sydney University’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Westmead Hospital for over 20 yrs. Hidden behind an opaque biomedical curtain, XENOTRANSPLANTATION is the most egregious example of all that is wrong with Primate and Lab Animal Research in NSW and Australia. Animal models have random and non-predictive value for human beings, and are cruel and wasteful. Moreover, purpose breeding GM pigs to be warehoused as “spare parts” for humans with preventable metabolic disease is transgressing a protective evolutionary firewall which has served species on either side of this evolutionary divide for millions of years. The suffering of those innocent creatures involved in this Frankenstein research is horrendous on so many levels. The Public Health risks to both species is discussed and a call to action is to be advocated.
