Douglas Leith

Doug has been involved with animal rights for over 30 years now, a journey which started with seeing film of vivisection. While this led to actions against all forms of animal abuse, vivisection has remained his primary focus and he has organised demonstrations, spoken at this and other forums and universities.
He cycled to Adelaide to raise funds for animals in laboratories and contributes to several groups.
He is a member of Mensa with a B.A. in philosophy but prefers to use the scientific/human health argument on this subject as it directly challenges the basis of animal experiments.

Animal experimentation: how to win that debate

Animal experimentation/vivisection has for many years been an issue many activists and vegans shy away from, unsure of what to say when confronted with questions such as “If killing a rat would save you/family member would you save the rat and let your kid die?” or similar. Even an answer of “Yes I would” is counterproductive, cementing the claim in the public mind that animal experiments save humans.

Pleasingly, the evidence shows the opposite; animal experiments are failing across the board from product testing to cancer research and everything between.
Via evidence we can concisely destroy pro vivisection claims. Combined with images of vivisection this provides a complete argument (images will not be shown here).
If you would like to see that evidence and how to present it this presentation should edify and encourage you.
