How to run a Kangaroo Walk and Talk Workshop and Kangaroos Alive Campaign updates
Connect your community to their local mob by running a Kangaroo Walk and Talk. People easily relate to kangaroo family structures and behaviours, often seeing their own reflected back. This sense of connection inspires care and protection, much like whale watching changed how people value whales.
Our KWaT Kit helps organisers get started and can be adapted for local environments. It includes an organiser guide, suggested script, fact sheet, behaviour cards, Yuin Kangaroo Declaration, signage, social media posts, brochure, and poster. We also provide a waiver and public liability insurance for groups requiring permits or licences.
This workshop will help you establish your own Walk and Talk, supported by our experience from a successful pilot program now adopted by Outdoors Victoria, schools, and community groups. Download the kit from our website.
