Fran Chambers
Fran co-founded Let Greyhounds Run Free (LGRF) in Tasmania in late 2015 as a result of the ABC’s Four Corners horrific exposé of live lure baiting. LGRF organised several rallies in the ensuing years and has become part of the growing local, national and global network of advocates determined to end dog racing. In early 2025, Fran joined the Board of Directors of GREY2K USA Worldwide.
On 10 August 2025, Tasmania’s Premier announced a phase out of greyhound racing, to end by 30 June 2029. Fran says: Phase 1, to get a commitment to end dog racing in Tasmania. Achieved. Phase 2, to make sure they hold to that commitment, has just begun.
Fran will join our Greyhounds Unleashed: Voices Against Racing discussion panel.
