In the midst of a pandemic, which originated from animal exploitation, now more than ever, we need to broadcast the global issue of animal rights far and wide. Our new name reflects our clear focus, the rights of all animals. We are calling out for speakers, to provide presentations or workshops, across a range of topics delivering education and inspiration to our delegates who will be both physically present and online.
Some potential topics that we would like to cover in our agenda include:
- Breakthrough successes in protecting animals
- Successful activism techniques
- New products or services that are reducing the slaughter of animals
- Animal Rights legislation – new, and changes required
- Animal testing
- Veganism
- Impact of factory farming
- Live Export
- Native animal protection
- Climate change and animal rights
- Leveraging Media (social and/or traditional)
- Participative workshops
- Forming successful teams
- Animal Sanctuaries
- Veganism and (Elite) Sport
- Threatened Species and what we need to do
- Other topics of your suggestion.
Our aim is for workshops to either inspire or educate delegates on ways that they can be more effective in their activism. We prefer to avoid talks that are:
- Purely informative of what a group is doing unless that is delivered in a way that will allow delegates to duplicate a campaign and run a similarly successful campaign themselves. Our event is aimed at people who wish to be active in helping animals and who do more than passively finance the work of others;
- Announcements of upcoming or recently started campaigns – many campaigns start, we want to educate our delegates on what has made a camapign with a proven track record successful;
- We will be avoiding any talks discussing Covid-19 and government responses, except where it directly relates to animal protection, such as animal experimentation.
Presentations are 45-60 minutes including time for questions. To express interest in presenting at the forum, send your name, phone number and a short description of what you would like to cover by using the CONTACT option on our website menu.
All topics and speakers will be reviewed by the organising committee to assemble an agenda that provides a broad coverage of animal rights issues.
