From rural beginnings on a Victorian dairy farm to heading up Australia’s most effective animal advocacy group, her interest in animal welfare and work in the field has spanned over four decades. Drawing on her 45 years at the forefront of reform — from the Australian Animal Welfare Strategy to the new Poultry Standards that will phase out cages — she will unpack the pivotal moments, strategic decisions, and alliances that made the difference. It’s a practical roadmap for the final push — tightening phase-out timelines, closing loopholes, ensuring enforceable standards, and sustaining community pressure until every hen is free from a cage.
